More Info:

Sister plays tender, heavy indie pop. It's the new Toronto-based band by Carla and Lynette Gillis (Plumtree, Bontempi, Bells Clanging), whose love of heavy metal has kept them busy since their teens, though they've yet to actually play in a heavy metal band. They chose the name Sister to honour each other and their family, particularly their Sister Darlene who passed away in the summer of 2008. This introspective five-song EP - a concept album about Plumtree's experiences touring Canada - is their debut. Recorded and produced by the talented Peter Elkas, it also features former Local Rabbit Ryan Myshrall on super-funky bass. Pete Johnston has since replaced him. With Plumtree, Carla and Lynette wrote the song 'Scott Pilgrim' in 1996, which inspired the comic book series of the same name by Bryan Lee O'Malley. The movie version of that series, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World starring Michael Cera in the titular role, hit theatres August 13, 2010.
